our philosophy

Our treatments are always patient-led. We are experts in a variety of massage, laser and healing techniques, but only you are an expert in your body.  Some clients come-in wanting to address a specific injury or area of discomfort, while others are looking to live a fuller life for longer and want ongoing preventative therapy so that their bodies can support them in that endeavour.

Perhaps you just really need to unwind with a relaxing massage, or maybe you have been wanting to try laser therapy for an old injury that keeps flaring-up. Regardless of what brings you in, our experienced team will listen, assess and provide feedback and recommendations to help you get back to moving (and living) your best life.

Brenda Walsh

Founder and Director, Brenda Walsh, RMT CLT RYT, took the long, scenic route to find her true calling in Massage and Laser Therapy. Her path began in Retail and Management where she acquired valuable business skills, but it was just a job. Then in 2003, feeling unsatisfied, she began to explore Health and Wellness when she took a position managing a Senior's Recreation Program through the YMCA. Observing how so few seniors had looked after their bodies and made moving a priority inspired her life mantra - "If I am going to be alive, I am going to be living."

The revelation set a course in motion. Brenda attained her Massage Therapy Certification (2,280 hours) and never looked back. Now a life-long learner in the art of Preventative Health and Wellness, she is also certified in a variety of Cold Laser techniques,  Myofascial Cupping Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Myofascial Yoga teacher and Certified Nutritional Therapist.

ABOUT CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Craniosacral therapy is a light-touch, full-body treatment that takes place with the clothes on. Usually, a client will lie on their back on the treatment table, covered with a light blanket. Hand positions and techniques are designed to assist in releasing active and non-active tension within the body. Occasionally we work in conversation using imagery and dialogue to assist in tissue transformation. Specific techniques vary based on what your body needs at the time of the appointment. Heather has a large collection of hands-on and energetic tools including a highly trained intuitive guidance system that assists in ensuring you receive exactly what your mind, body and soul need most.

Benefits of a combined Craniosacral and Energetic Therapy session with Heather:

  • Physical: relieves general tension and pain, increases relaxation, helps injuries or traumas heal more quickly, increases range of motion, increases healthy fluid flow within body systems, assists with immune function, with brain and nervous system function (including concussion and brain fog), assists in optimizing digestive function and with all general and specialized body organs and systems.

  • Mental: decreases anger, fear, stress, anxiety, and depression, helps with behavioural complaints (ADD/ADHD, etc), relieves overstimulation and instills calmness, helps to clarify concern, worry or over-questioning, SomatoEmotional release, helps with healthy boundaries, grounding, peacefulness and clarity.

  • Spiritual: provides the space and support for a deeper understanding of self and purpose, and facilitates the release of spiritual blocks and energetic attachments preventing you from moving forward.

Denise Cameron Holland

Denise has combined her 27 years of experience treating clients in chronic pain with a dual practitioner skill set,  and thousands of hours of continuing education.  Her career began in 1997 at the University of Toronto Athletics Center and Lyndhurst Hospital for Spinal Cord injuries. When returning to her hometown, she managed a multidisciplinary pain clinic where she continued in her search for answers to "Why won't these trigger points go away." She took a significant leap forward after completing her Matrix Repatterning and Manual Osteopath training. This led her to become an instructor for multiple postgraduate courses, including Rekinetix, Shockwave Therapy and Low-Level Laser Therapy.

She seized every opportunity to learn how the human body functions as a unit, achieving 6000 hours of education in myofascial therapy and chronic pain. Denise takes a “find the root blockage” approach to pain and dysfunction. She takes the time to assess her client’s needs and wants to establish the right treatment plan, followed by client education on self-therapy. Treatments are 70 min in length to ensure therapy is not rushed, and clients have the time they need to allow their bodies to integrate the treatments, which may include any combination that her client’s body needs to remove long-standing trigger points, scar tissue and deep tissue pain points.

Her clients often comment that one hour with Denise is like 10 massages of tissue tension.

Denise now works at Aquinas College in the Massage Therapy Program and mentors new therapists as they progress into the healing field. She currently runs the Biotensegrity Cupping Course for postgraduate massage therapists. Denise’s approach is unique,  as it ensures the layers of your tension are addressed from bone, fascia, lymphatic, muscles and meridian lines, allowing you to unwind the layers of chronic pain. Her treatments are a "must try to understand" due to the uniqueness of the session and the education Denise provides, which shows how she customizes every client.

Denise spends her free time with her 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and is completing her Canine Osteopathy degree with the London College of Animal Osteopathy.

If you would like more information if Denise's approach is right for you, please get in touch with the office; we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
